SJ,
Yes, math is still your kryptonite. Yes, biology is still not your cup of tea. But, not to worry! Your affection for the arts still beats strong.
I want you to know that I am forever proud of the things you will overcome. I can’t say exactly what because the lessons you’ve learned will build you into a much happier person, but know that you should always follow your instincts for they will lead you to greener pastures.
The people you will meet will give you some of the best experiences. Your confidence in yourself and where you will end up is admirable, and the growth you’ve shown is truly momentous. All of the smiles, laughs, and even all of the crash-outs have given you memories that you will never, ever, ever want to part with– so don’t.
You will need to learn how to let go of some things, but that comes with time, for even I have yet to master it.
You’re going to have to learn how to love and forgive yourself, but me being able to write this letter to you without cringing is a sign that you do learn.
Juliana, I love you so, so much, and I am so excited for you to experience everything I now keep so dear to my heart.
Yours truly,
SJ
