President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he had been admitted to the Trump University School of Medicine, and will be taking classes there immediately.
“People didn’t believe I could do it,” Trump told reporters at a press conference this morning. “But I proved them all wrong.”
When asked about his main motivation for obtaining the degree, he said that he was doing it for the American people.
“Everything I do is for America,” Trump said. “The people should be hearing medical developments and cures directly from me. It’s a tremendous thing I could be doing, prescribing medicine for the general population. Hydroxychloroquine was just the start.”
Amid his responsibilities as president, Trump is expected to take night classes and spend most of his time studying.
When asked about Trump’s decision, Dr. Anthony Fauci offered his support. “It’s a good day for America,” he said. “Things may soon turn for the better.”
Update April 9: At the time of this publication, Trump has reportedly given up on studying, stating that “WebMD was much easier to use.”
